Nice area to take your dog to play. There are a lot of rocks at the beginning of the entrance.

This park has become a major part of my 3 dogs' lives. I take them all once a week on a weekday, as it is calmer and less crowded. Two of my three are older and prefer the park when it is quieter with less rambunctious dogs. I go again every Sunday with just my younger puppy. It has helped him become so well socialized and he plays well with all the dogs and loves the swimming. Overall the park is ran very well and most of the owners are aware of their dogs. I do wish there were more open hours, as I would love to go early in the morning. The only other real complaints I have are that sometimes owners are not aware enough of their dogs. Today for example I saw a dog poop in the water and the owner had no idea, so it was never taken care of. I also did see multiple piles of poop. Normally it is pretty clean, so I think today was just an exception. Also normally the lady who works there is great about telling people what to expect, but today there were two other ladies who let dogs enter the parks with the leashes on. If your dog is not socialized, or is nervous, keeping him on the leash is the WORST thing you can do in a park. As an owner and a long time Veterinary nurse I know this from first hand experience. The normal lady makes sure the dogs are unleashed in the entrance gate before coming in. If you are taking your dog here for the first time it would be a good idea to go on a weekday, as weekends can be overwhelming for dogs who are not used to being around other dogs. I also saw the same 2 dogs instigating fights today, but the owners insisted they were just playing. They definitely were not, so my puppy and I stayed away from them. Just be aware of body language and you'll know who could cause trouble. Also sometimes I see people eating in the park and I feel they should implement a no food rule, as that could trigger competition with the dogs. Again, I think this park is phenomenal, but there is a lot that could make it more enjoyable for everyone (mainly through owner education).
